Letter to Yourself

About remembering you were never the problem.

Perched on the edge of a chair, carrying dread in your chest and sometimes wishing for an escape from all of it, you find yourself close to a breaking point.

You know something has to change. You try to be the perfect son, hoping that maybe this time it will be enough. But slowly, painfully, you begin to realise that no matter how hard you try, it never seems to matter.

Every glance feels like it carries anger. The cycle of abuse, fear, and both physical and emotional pain keeps repeating, again and again.

No matter how clean the table is, how high the grades are, or how much effort you put in, it is never enough for him.

But kid, please remember this:

You were never the problem.

Stay strong. :)
